What Candidates Are Telling Us
As we have kicked off 2025, we have sought to be intentional about asking candidates and people in our network opinions on a variety of topics regarding the construction industry, employment, etc.
We wanted to take a moment to briefly share what we have found so far in hopes that it may be insightful to you as you continue to grow your construction team this year. Check out some of the questions that we have posed to construction professionals and what their answers were:
What is a good timeline for giving a decision on an offer of employment?
Most Common Answer we received (by a wide margin) was: 1 week
What is the most challenging type of project to build?
Out of the all the types of construction projects out there, the primary response was: Healthcare / Medical projects
What is the most important thing you are looking for in a new opportunity?
The top answer received was: Long-term growth opportunity. (Team culture was 2nd, and 3rd was increase in compensation)
I think these are important responses to consider for construction companies that continuing to hire and grow their teams in 2025. It is crucial to structure offers and the interview process in such a way that creates excitement, a sense of appreciation/value, and authenticity for potential new team members.
